Talking Guide
EZVideo now supports VoiceOver / TalkBack / VoiceView making it fully compliant with the FCC’s CVAA requirement for TVs.
When enabling the feature on the Apple / Android / Amazon device’s OS, the user will be able to do the following:
Channel and Program Selection - Allows the user to select channels and programs via channel up/ down, physical numeric or on screen guides and menus.
Display Channel/ Program Information - Function that allows the user to move focus state to read any text displayed with in the app.
Playback Functions - Allows the OS to read buttons so the user can control playback functions (ex. Play, pause rewind, fast forward, stop and record).
On Apple TV:
- Go to OS Home screen and select Settings
- Select General
- Select Accessibility
- Select VoiceOver option to On
- Enable “DirectTouch” (using two fingers, rotage on the Siri remote touchpad until the rotor dial displays “DirectTouch”)
- Disable “Read Screen After Delay”
- Disable “Vertical Navigation”
On Android TV:
- Go to OS Home screen and select Settings
- Select Accessibility
- Select Talkback option to Enabled
- Note: Testing only validated using TalkBack Settings Version 7.2.0.220693075 leanback or newer version
On Amazon Fire TV:
- Go to OS Home screen and select Settings
- Select Accessibility
- Select VoiceView option to On
On Roku:
From within the app:
- Select * from remote
- Select Accessibility
- Turn On Audio Guide
- Set Speech rate
- Set Volume
From OS:
- Go To Settings
- Select Accessibility
- Select Audio Guide
- Turn on Audio Guide
- To Select Speech Rate, Volume and Shortcut
- Go To Settings
- Select Accessibility
- Select required Speech Rate
- Select required Volume
- Select shortcut enables/disabled
